FAQ

Frequently asked
questions.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often.

What is Home Accounts? ⌄
Home Accounts is a private, powerful personal finance app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It helps you track every account (bank, credit card, investment, loan, mortgage, and savings), manage subscriptions, forecast mortgage payments, track investments, and organise financial documents — all with your data staying completely private on your device.
Is my data safe and private? ⌄
Yes. Home Accounts is 100% private — your financial data never leaves your device. We don't operate our own data collection servers, we don't track you, and we don't share your information with third parties. Data is stored locally on your device, with Apple's CloudKit used only if you choose to enable iCloud sync between your own devices.
What devices and OS versions are supported? ⌄
Home Accounts runs natively on iPhone, iPad and Mac, built with SwiftUI to feel at home on each platform. AI Spending Insights additionally requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled device — iPhone 15 Pro or later, or an Apple silicon iPad or Mac — running a recent iOS, iPadOS, or macOS release. On older or non-Apple-Intelligence devices, a clear rule-based summary is shown instead.
What is AI Spending Insights? ⌄
AI Spending Insights is a new feature in the Limit Insights panel for any account with a credit or overdraft limit set. On Apple Intelligence-enabled devices, it generates a personalised 1–2 sentence insight based on your limit utilisation and top spending categories — entirely on-device, with nothing ever sent to a server. On other devices, a clear rule-based summary is shown instead.
Can I import my existing bank statements? ⌄
Yes. Home Accounts supports importing CSV bank statements. Most banks allow you to export your transaction history as a CSV file, which you can then import to populate your transaction history. The app automatically matches and reconciles transactions as it imports them.
How do I get my data out if I want to leave? ⌄
All your data is yours. You can export your accounts and transactions as CSV files at any time from within the app. Since iCloud sync is optional, your data otherwise stays local to your device until you choose to delete it.
Is there an iPhone and iPad version? ⌄
Yes — Home Accounts is a single universal app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and your data syncs between them via iCloud if you choose to enable it. There is no web version — we've designed the app specifically for Apple's platforms to take full advantage of their capabilities while keeping your data completely private on your device.
Is there a cost or subscription? ⌄
Home Accounts is a one-time purchase of £49.99 (or local equivalent) — every feature included, no subscription and no recurring fees. All billing is handled exclusively by Apple — we never see or store your payment details.
How do I sync my data across multiple devices? ⌄
Enable iCloud sync in Settings, and your data will be kept up to date across every iPhone, iPad and Mac signed into the same Apple ID, using Apple's CloudKit and iCloud encryption. This is optional — you can also keep your data local to a single device if you prefer.
